On April 16, 2013 the Scottish Rite Valley of Salina held a night dedicated to family fun, at the Masonic Center.
We asked members to bring their kids or grandkids. We had 5 grandkids and 18 adults present.
The evening started off with a kid friendly meal of hotdogs and chips with popsicles for desert.
Several games were loaned to us by the Salina Recreation Department: Miniature golf, pop-a-shot, ring toss and tic-tac toe toss.
Hop-scotch was taped off on the floor. We had a couple of art projects for them to do.
We had a cake walk which the kids really enjoyed because each one of the kids went home with two cakes.
We want to thank the people that donated the cakes: Virginia Frederick, Bev Hamilton, Carol Winn, Linda Leander and Nadine Gable.
We tried our hand at the May Pole. I had to draft some adults to help.
I don’t think we have it figured out quite right, but we had a lot of fun trying to figure it out.
Some of the adults got dizzy before we were done.
We made May baskets and there was a large table covered with paper
and markers so they could draw anything that they wanted to on it.
Fun was had by all who attended. We would like to try some more family functions,
we need your input on what you would like to do.
Please
contact the office if you have any bright ideas.
